Description
Cormorant is a serif typeface that is a modern revival of the work of several sixteenth-century punchcutters, including Claude Garamond, Robert Granjon, and Jean Jannon. It follows the model of an influential typeface cut for Venetian printer Aldus Manutius by his punchcutter Francesco Griffo in 1495. Cormorant is part of the old-style of serif letter design, letters with a relatively organic structure resembling handwriting with a pen, but with a slightly more structured, upright design. The font features a wide range of weights and styles that make it suitable for various design contexts. Its classic look, with thick strokes and long tails on the 'q' and 'p', makes it ideal for both traditional and modern designs.
